We've been going to Koi for years. It's always been our favorite sushi place. The last time we went it was really bad service and we gave it a long while before we wanted to go back. Well, we just got back from lunch and it was actually worse than before. They essentially had 1 waitress serving the whole restaurant. My wife and I ordered soup and shrimp tempura as an appetizer and my son a sushi roll. My wife and son got theirs first? My soup came about 10 minutes later. After that came and we finished, we waited for about 20 minutes, 15 of that with empty glasses. After our waitress walked past our table no less than 5 times without addressing us, we flagged her down and ordered our check. A sushi roll, 3 shrimp, 2 bowls of soup, a beer and a saki... $41. Essentially for an appetizer. Left there and went to lunch.
Food was very good but service was very slow.
This is our go to favorite place in a Franklin. If there is an issue it is that they are sometimes short on servers but the food is worth the wait. My wife’s favorite is the Columbia Roll!
My first time there and it was absolutely amazing.
We came in for a Saturday late lunch on a cold, spring Franklin day. The service was attentive and atmosphere festive. They had some big jazz music that lively and fun. We started with the shrimp and veggie tempura-delicious. She had the peanut chicken that was perfect and I had tuna sashimi, dragon roll, and spicy tuna roll. We both washed everything down with a pint of Karin. So good. We will be back soon.
Great place for lunch or dinner. Relaxed atmosphere and amazing staff. The food is always great. Best sushi in the Franklin area. Their Pad Tai is to die for. Give them a try, you won't be sorry.
Best sushi I've had anywhere in middle Tennessee. Original creations that are always on point! I've recommend this place any time anyone ever asks about sushi.
Best sushi in the Nashville area, but the service is horrible.
Always delicious! I think the crab tasted better than ever. It was my daughter's birthday and they blessed us with awesome dessert to help us celebrate. Yums! 👍👏😊
We enjoyed this little find in Franklin. The server was helpful and really nice. It's a fusion place so don't expect authentic Thai but over all the curry and sushi was decent. Crunchy Shrimp Roll was good. The Philly they used crab so stay away. Maasuman wasn't actually maasuman. It had pineapple and other things but was decent for whatever it was.Hope this helps
The pho is awesome.
The atmosphere was nice. Very well designed. Clean restaurant and bathroom. Service was friendly. The food, however, was average. Got a beef bento box and it was drowning in teriyaki sauce. The deep fried veggies were ok, but we're mystery vegetables until you bit into them and had way too much breading in my opinion. Sushi was ok, but nothing that I couldn't get from the seafood section of Publix. If you go, go for the atmosphere and service, not because the food is outstanding.
THE best Thai food in Tennessee!! Great service, wonderful people, amazing food!!I must say, having tried most of their vegetarian version of the dishes this place serve, everything is really good. Very flavorful, consistent & great quality food, very friendly staff. Spice level is made to order from 1 to 51 being very mild and 5 being Thai hot!Lunch is always value meal, entree with soup or salad which also comes with spring roll.I'm huge fan of this place and stop by when in the area. Highly recommend!
Had my dogs with me so, takeout only. Ordered by phone. Order ready exact on time and exactly right. Reasonable price. Delicious sushi. Only issue is that most of the sushi selections are fried or tempura. Very few raw. The two I chose were raw and spicy. Perfectly spicy! The sashimi is expensive, $4 or more for two pieces. My two special roles were plenty for dinner.
Great sushi for being so far from the coasts.
Great place for Thai and sushi. The best Pho in Nashville, especially the beef. The crab bang roll is great. All the vegetables still have texture and distinct flavor. I've tried half the menu and never dissapppinted. Try the pad woon sen, shrimp tempura, or panang curry. But everything will be made with care, so you can't go wrong.
When an order is wrong on their part, make sure to check your food. Was served rotten avocados on the jumbo crab cake rolls.
Definitely my favorite Thai restaurant in the area, and very conveniently located for me. I've tried several things on the menu, fried rice and Pad Thai are best in town, but the bento boxes are my personal favorite. Service is always great and my girlfriend and I come here for dates more than anywhere else. Definitely a great place to eat.
The food is almost always 5 stars. I would say it's the best sushi in Franklin. I'm taking off 1 star only because they do mess up my order every now and again. They usually only mess up the to-go orders, but that's the worst scenario! You end up getting home to realize you have the wrong sauce, or worse you are missing a $15 roll. Just keep your eye on things and you'll be in for a treat.
Got the massaman curry, Thai hot, and it was incredible. Best Thai food I've found so far. The people here were super friendly, as well. Can't wait to go back and try the sushi!
Waited for 15 minutes and no one acknowledged us to see if we were waiting for a to go order or to be seated. No hostess or host was present and people started to basically seat themselves. Saw three servers running around like crazy...clearly need to hire more staff on a weekend.
The food is definitely worth the wait. Sushi select here is amazing, like 50+.....
This evening we placed a “to go” order of Spicy Tuna and Crunchy Crab Rolls for our family. We were very disappointed. When we got home and opened the containers the rolls were squished and the“tuna” concoction was spilling out of a few of the rolls. None of it looked appealing. The Tuna in the Tuna Roll honestly looked like cat food. It looked as though the tuna may have been put through a blender before it was placed in the rolls. It was also advertised as a “Spicy” Tuna Roll but was nowhere close to spicy. Sadly the rolls tasted bland. And as for the Crunchy Crab roll it was just crab and crunch...nothing else. They were extremely dry and definitely needed something of more substance in them. This was also our first time ordering sushi from Koi...and our last. The worst part is that price of this dinner that none of my family would end up eating was $40!! The consensus tonight.....$40 wasted.☹️
Best sushi in Franklin. Despite the other stores around it it actually has a really nice ambiance.
Best sushi in franklin by far:)
Delicious, locally owned. We always enjoy eating at Koi.
We enjoy this place often and really feel they're doing a good job dealing with COVID. My only suggestion is to avoid sitting near the entrance because of the high volume of carry out orders right now and the number of people waiting. I'd love to see them rearrange the seating on the meantime so it's safer and you don't have people standing next to you while you eat.
Very fresh and tasty sushi. Christian was our waiter. He was attentive to my wife's dietary needs (GF) and to the rest of us throughout the meal. The yellowtail was delicious and the portion sizes just right. This was our first time at Koi but it's now going to be our go-to for sushi in this area.
Forgot part of our order and had disconnected phones so I could not call to get a refund
They play JAZZ! The food is excellent and service is typically good too. I love the atmosphere and sushi chefs.
Solid food. Excellent sushi
Outstanding Thai food. I think this may be my fave in the whole Greater Nashville area. Cool atmosphere, feels a bit upscale. But sits in a regular strip mall. Delicious curries, yummy Thai tea. Quick service. They customize the dish my hubby gets so they don't mind making changes to suit your particular taste. We've celebrated someone's bday here too and they accommodated us well with no advance notice. I will continue to frequent this place. It's worth a trip from where you are if u crave Thai food.
Pretty tasty sushi.
I had the eel roll and the spicy tuna roll, both were excellent! My companion ordered a roll that Incorporated a strawberry slice (maybe the Dragon roll?), and said it was fantastic. One odd thing is the Coke was served by the can. Not an issue, in fact I kind of liked it, just unusual. All in all, we agreed we'd definitely be back!
One of my favorites! I usually go for the green curry or Bahama Blue sushi roll. My most recent trip I had the Pho with just vegetables. Service is fast and friendly. The food is delicious. I highly recommend.
Quaint, laid back, yummy food. Thai/Japanese fusion with a touch of Vietnamese. Enjoyed my Thai and Sushi selections. Friendly, down to earth, unpretentious staff. Will visit again to try the Pho! Ask for a Ginger Mojito. Omg yum.
Great Thai food. Excellent taste and quality. Restaurant is very nice as well. I highly recommend it.
The best pad thai and sushi in Franklin! The staff are excellent and provide fantastic service!
I have been coming here since the day they opened, this location. + The food is always good, the quality has stayed consistent. + Nice aesthetics, and clean. - The Prices have raised from affordable($) to over the top($$$). - The service has gone from excellent to decent.Overall: Good food, clean, overpriced, service is lacking.
Wow! If you're looking for sushi in Franklin area I would most definitely suggest this place. I have had sushi all over TN from Memphis to Nashville and being from California have found it very hard to find great sushi. I finally found it! A great selection of sushi and a vibrant seating area give a sense of being in Japan. The place is clean, the staff friendly and most importantly, the sushi is the best I've found in Tn!
My new favorite sushi place! I absolutely love the food and ambiance. It was my dinner spot of choice for my birthday this year. I'll be a frequent customer from now on!
Absolutely amazing. One of my all time favorite places. I had the peanut chicken and it was delicious. The mojito sushi roll was amazing also. Definitely 10/10
Honestly it's the terrible service I have always gotten when I have gone in there. Waited almost 15 minutes during a slow time to actually see my waiter, then waited another 30 minutes for my food order to get to me. Never refilled my drink more than twice the entire time, and never got the other half of my order. The food is alright, it's not the best sushi but for Franklin it's understandable. Overall there are much better places to go.
I love this place. Koi is a hidden jem. Good food, pleasant wait staff and a charming atmosphere. The Koi Sushi and Thai restaurant is clean and the wait staff is very personable. They do a good job of keeping up with your table and making sure you have what you need. I have had some of the traditional Thai dishes and they are delish. They have a very good selection of sushi. The spring rolls are great also. Try it you will like it.
I’ve always ordered take out from Koi and always enjoyed their food. I went in to dine in for once and our server was friendly, but never brought us our beers we ordered. We ordered the dynamite roll and it’s suppose to have seared tuna, and it was completely raw... the server said they seared it so I just said fine we will eat it. Another server comes to clear the table and my boyfriend is trying to help her stack dishes and she just snatches the plate with the worst attitude. I can understand if they were busy, but it’s was 8pm on a Tuesday night. I will not be coming back here. I’d rather sit at Virago and enjoy a meal with better service! I was disappointed because these reviews sounded fantastic, but not so much in person.
Got a HUGE plate of a variety of sushi for my friends and I. Everything we got was fantastic and we ate it all.
Great food. Friendly stafr
Amazing food. Go here just about once a week. Worth the trip.
Pho is all around high quality for real. Had the combination to-go, and they give you a lot. Was inside long enough to see how nice it is. I'd say good for medium sized groups once they can fully open. Not sure how they go about reserving for events/large groups, since it's not huge.
I love the pad thai, crab wontons, thai tea, service, and chicken teriyaki this place has to offer. Their sauces are to die for. Great food and service make this place special. I'm not a sushi person, but if you like sushi there are a ton of options available.
